Turning Waste Into Opportunity
Connop Innovative Technology Group (CITG) was founded in Bunbury, Western Australia, from the vision of recycling innovator Murray Connop. Driven by decades of experience and an unwavering belief in the potential of waste-to-resource technologies, CITG is a research-led company specialising in sustainable materials development and advanced manufacturing.
With a strong focus on innovation and sustainability, CITG exists to tackle big challenges with practical, scalable solutions. Our approach is rooted in the circular economy - where waste is no longer the end of the line, but the beginning of something new.
We work at the intersection of science, industry, and environmental stewardship, transforming industrial and post-consumer waste into high-performance, commercially viable products. Our current focus spans water treatment, sustainable construction, and low-emission technologies, underpinned by successful research collaborations with Edith Cowan University (ECU) and other leading institutions.
At our core is a belief that the world’s toughest sustainability problems can be solved not with promises - but with real, tested innovation backed by deep technical knowledge and a commitment to execution.
Our Mission
To create value from waste by developing environmentally responsible technologies that accelerate the circular economy, reduce environmental impact, and improve resource efficiency across industries.
Our Approach
-
We work hand-in-hand with leading institutions like Edith Cowan University (ECU) to develop technologies that are grounded in evidence, validated through rigorous testing, and built with real-world conditions in mind. Our commitment to collaboration ensures that our innovations are not only cutting-edge but scientifically sound.
-
While we’re passionate about sustainability, we’re equally focused on commercial viability. Every solution we pursue is designed to be scalable, cost-effective, and easy to adopt within existing industry frameworks - because true innovation only works when it works for business too.
-
We measure success not just in commercial terms, but in how well our solutions support people, planet, and progress. Our projects are intentionally built to reduce environmental impact, preserve natural resources, and promote long-term sustainability - without compromising performance or practicality.
-
We’re builders, not just thinkers. Every idea is taken through a hands-on process of prototyping, testing, refining, and implementation. It’s this discipline - grounded in decades of technical experience - that allows us to move from research to reality with confidence and precision.
